Avoid areas where the snow surface is cracking up. Persistent weak layers of facets are easy to trigger. A hard, crusty snow surface in other areas makes for challenging travel conditions.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2). Remote triggering is possible.

I helgen kom det 5-15 cm nysnø. Mandag var det kraftig vind som ga nye fokksnøflak. Noen steder i regionen var det mildvær til ca 200 moh mandag. På fjellet er det en del steder hard og glatt skare etter mildvær tidligere i januar (9. jan).

Et svakt lag av kantkorn har brygget i snødekket en stund nå. Mye drønn både høyt og lavt til fjells gjør at laget nå regnes som et aktivt problem.

Kuldeperioden har utviklet et svakt lag av kantkorn under fokksnøen. Det meldes flere steder om drønn i snødekket og det kan være lett å påvirke. Unngå bratte heng der du opplever faretegn som drønn og oppsprekkende snødekke.
